Wood & Company has had a presence in the Slovak financial markets since 1993. The firm has been one of the most active houses trading Slovak equities dating back to when the country was a part of Czechoslovakia.

These years of experience, plus the firm's Slovak personnel, give Wood & Co. a deep understanding of the local market. The firm also maintains strong contacts with Slovak investors, financial institutions, brokers, and government officials, all of which allow the firm to keep a finger on the pulse of everything financial in Slovakia.

Led by Lubo Šoltýs who operates out of our Bratislava office, Wood & Co. also offers its clients a full range of corporate finance services including M&A advisory, initial public offerings, follow-on equity offerings, financial restructuring, privatizations, and private placements.

Selected research activities entail the covering of major macroeconomic events and sifting through investment prospects to uncover potentially significant investment opportunities to present to Wood & Company's clients.

Although trading volumes in Slovakia are not high enough to justify a local stock exchange membership - most trading is done outside the Bratislava Stock Exchange on the OTC market - Wood & Company is fully capable of handling a client's every Slovak trading and settlement requirement.

Wood & Company's privatization advisory endeavors in Slovakia:
Acted as advisor to Electricite de France on acquisition of Stredoslovenska Energetika for EUR 158 mil.
Participated as co-advisor to Slovak government in partnership with Deutsche Bank on the sale of Slovak Telecom to Deutsche Telecom for EUR 1 bil.
